RAC Arrival for UK and Europe. Tested as far as members need to use the service and it worked OK.
Green flag for UK only (at least that was the situation when I was with them a few years ago). That has also been successfully tested by a member.

Others may be available but check that truck and trailer are both covered attached and separately as that has been an issue in the past.

RE: Roadside Assistance
RAC Arrival for me but you need to be a member of the Camping and Caravan Club for a large discount on price. They also provided a taxi when I needed them as there is only 1 passenger seat in the truck cab. Prompt, excellent value but if you do break down in say Turkey they might decide to pay the cost of the rig as a specialist tow could be more expensive.

I know of one member who had theirs returned to the UK from Spain, but as you say all journeys will be cost analysed.

Roadside Assistance
I have had three breakdowns, twice with air brake problems which green flag sorted out at the roadside extremely effectively and where on the scene within 20 minutes. I then had a serious engine malfunction with my Nissan V6. A truck arrived after half an hour, diagnosed the problem and offered me hotel, hire car or wait for another hour and they would bring another specialist vehicle to lift dead Nissan and hook fifth wheel on a brilliant hydraulic turntable thing which could even tow an artic trailer. They took me 250 miles to my dealer and delivered the fifth wheel to my home. I had previously used both AA and RAC and still consider them only suitable for minor private car problems. I have also used Green Flag to recover my Hymer motor home following hitting a concrete block on the motorway at 65 mph ( took bottom off the engine). I cannot praise green flag enough, brilliant service.

RE: Roadside Assistance
Green flag does not operate outside of the UK. The RAC is commercial breakdown, not car breakdown but my car is also covered. I have had to use them in the UK and found them so good that I suggested that if he wanted some cooked food for his rest break then pull into the Membury services. So there was Jacqui cooking up dinner with the fiver some 3ft higher of the ground then usual and the driver and myself enjoying tea and dinner together.
